Bulk Equipment Corp., headquartered in Michigan City, Ind., has chosen to expand its use of CVS FERRARI Reach Stackers and Lift Trucks in its Equipment Rental Division. Bulk Equipment Corp. is a leading provider of heavy equipment solutions based out of Michigan City (Indiana) that offers a series of services to companies in heed of mobilizing heavy loads for their ongoing business operations. Equipment rental (with and without operators), field services and equipment maintenance services are the main areas of activity of the company that distinguishes itself from competition for the innovative approach to the handling tasks challenges posed by its customers, with a constant attention to productivity improvement and thus, value creation for the customer and the company itself.
With such an open mind yet pragmatic business approach, Bulk Equipment Corporation has chosen CVS FERRARI as heavy lift mobile equipment supplier. Bulk brought the first of these machines to the U.S. in 2013. Said Vice President Abe Blumenfeld, “We find these are perfect for our customers in the steel industry. From competitive tests, we found the CVS FERRARI equipment consistently outperformed other brands in this rigorous environment.” Strong of three years of successful field experience of these machines in very severe steel handling applications, in 2017 Bulk has proceeded with renewing its rental fleet by adding nine (9) more CVS FERRARI new machines.
The trucks, that are being employed in the run of important material handling contracts that Bulk has struck with major USA Midwest based steel mills, include five (5) 32 Ton and two (2) 42 Ton fork lifts and two Reach Stackers with “C” hook for coil handling purposes.
The forklifts have been specified with a series of design solutions developed by CVS FERRARI to improve driver’s visibility and reduce maintenance cost, in line with Bulk’s requirements. In particular, the 32 Tonners feature a single stage mast with integrated coil ram, a design that minimizes and protects moving parts thus reducing operations generated damages and maintenance.
The 42 Tonners instead embody an “out of the box” solution for the loading of steel coils onto walled rail cars. With a high and front placed cabin and over the cab mounted tilt cylinders to completely clear driver’s visibility, these trucks handle the coils with prongs mounted on forks. This way the forks can be used as a clamp that pick up the coil using the fork positioning hydraulic function.
Blumenfeld noted that Bulk has been pleased with the parts availability and high level of technical assistance, regardless of the job site location throughout the U.S. He also complimented the beautiful fit and finish of the equipment and competitive pricing. “Our customers have been satisfied with the handling of the equipment and now request CVS FERRARI above other manufacturers that we provide in our rental fleet,” said Blumenfeld.
Bulk Equipment Corp will shortly also enjoy the direct support of the USA headquarters of Toplift North America – the CVS FERRARI importer for USA and Canada – that will soon be opened in metro Chicago and that will be the main Spare Parts Depot and Technical Competence Centre for the Us market.
