At CVS Ferrari, proud part of the Taylor Group, we do design and manufacture these very special lift trucks that have the ability to work inside the ships low deck that with its overall height of just 6.300 mm (less than 21’) and in which sometimes are stored 1 x 8’6’’ containers on top of a 1 x 9’6’’ container, thus leaving only less than 3’ headroom between the roof of the top container and the deck ceiling. How to handle 20’ and 40’ containers in such a low space? The answer is: “with CVS Ferrari RoRo Laden Container Forklifts!”. These lift trucks can negotiate such incredibly low headroom in order to handle the containers from the top inside these bottom of the ship low decks, this thanks to a unique low profile telescopic spreader with a capacity up to 35 Ton that only CVS is able to integrate on these trucks, thanks to a special proprietary software that warns the driver of potential collisions as well as continuously controlling the residual stability of the truck and reducing drive and lift speeds as well as mast lift and tilt angle while the truck drives on the steep ship ramps allowing it to get to the various decks of the vessel where it operates. One of these beautiful machines have been delivered in spring 2025 by CVS Ferrari to Grendi Trasporti Marittimi, a shipping line that keeps the truck aboard its RoRo ships when these are calling different on shore as well as large and small islands ports in the Mediterranean sea.
